Ron Gibson
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Ron Gibson, our founding President and Board Member, who passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Ron's absence leaves a profound void in our foundation and in the veteran community he loved so well.
Ron was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where he built a life characterized by hard work and a commitment to serving others. His journey included developing successful businesses and enjoying a long career as a State-Certified Real Estate Appraiser. As a proud member of the Sunset Chapter of the Harley Owners Group and a former Board President of the Beaverton Elks Lodge, Ron channeled his spirit of community into every endeavor he undertook. His personal experiences and deep respect for those who serve inspired him to co-found the SGT Watts Veterans Foundation. He believed that our veterans deserved the support of a grateful community and dedicated his efforts to ensure that no veteran would ever stand alone.
